From May 17 to May 21 Gizmodo displayed a custom-built apartment as part of NYCxDESIGN, New York City’s official citywide celebration of design. Gizmodo's Home of the Future, an immersive, real-life vision of the urban home of tomorrow—designed by Brooklyn-based Bernheimer Architecture—was in an old gymnasium in Soho, and filled with a range of life-simplifying and energy-saving innovations, from cutting edge kitchenware to virtual entertainment and everything in between.
Gizmodo invited us out to NYC to represent Transportation of the Future. In the Gizmodo Home of the Future, visitors found both the most accessible and most aspirational technologies of today for enhancing our homes now and in the future. And the Home of the Future is more than just a physical space: it's a cavalry of ideas that stand to change the way we live.
Gizmodo's Home of the Future was also full of items that will help you get around today that seem like they're from tomorrow. At Home of the Future we displayed a custom bike with Mott Street Customs bikes. Our MSC collaboration bike will be available in the fall, check it out below.
